Hmm, band name? Bygones. Anyway, yes, we know the US charges and subsequent seeking extradition were an attack on journalism, fellow lefties, but can we please find a better standard bearer than the dude accused of [accusation deleted] in Sweden and, as I understand it, in some corners of Melbourne's northern suburbs lefty community the hacker/adjacent community, since long before he allegedly hacked a [computer location deleted] in the late 80s. (Or was it the 90s?)

Me? I'm not accusing him of anything, but Sweden's police did, formally, in a request for extradition that was later dropped along with said charges. This is fact, reported by every english speaking rag in the world. I have it on good authority that there is a trail of people who talk about, hmm, Australia's defamation laws forbid me calling it what it is, but some less evolved males might call a certain celbrity's alleged youthful encounters "the actions of a ladies man." I am not sniggering. Australia a land of sweeping rape culture.

Having to even put it that way, lest potential solicitors seek to make a name for themselves with my name, in a court somewhere, makes my skin crawl. Even if there is a collection of tales from varied sources, one may not ask the question in regards a name. Australia's "finest" legal hour. And the Australian political left currently celebrate the release of somebody who sought an asylum rather than defend that extradition.

The only thing I, a life-long, pro-intersectional leftist, too, currently agree with from my leftist siblings is that the USA's blatant political opportunism, to pursue an editor-in-chief for espionage, when they already had the person who leaked the documents, bang-to-rights, was an act of political bullying, pointing a finger at anybody reporting truth about human rights abuses, sneering, "We're coming for you, too." Chelsie Manning is the person to celebrate. They released the truth in an act with potentially deadly personal ramifications.

Where I diverge from popular belief is that being a journalist is, in no way on Earth, an excuse for widely spoken about offences against persons that have yet to be heard, and likely never will be now. Nods and winks, yes, maybe the "stories" are untrue. The Swedish case, the actual extradition request, not the allegation associated with the extradition request, is a point of fact. That no court was given the opportunity to hear the details of the allegation is a fact, too. We can never "know." Still, the talk on the streets has been talked for a very long time. Far be it for me to accuse, I wouldn't dream of it! But many who once did, now celebrate a win for journalism?! Have they forgotten so completely that cousin, that ex girlfriend, that friend, who all knew a particular current "celebrity?" I am not talking about anybody in particular here, just talking about gossip... lots of gossip.

Me? I have no opinion... in public, at least, I dare not here. Hoorah, journalism has a hero. Oh look, muddy footprints from the past. If I say more, I might receive a writ. Forgive me, though, if I'd rather celebrate Al Jazeera or The Guardian. The rest of my country is behaving like a B & S Ball, those drunken rape culture parties to celebrate "adulthood" with bad behaviour, something this nation so loves.
