Today, at a little before 8:30am, my mother-in-law, Raewyn Green, passed from this life after a short palliation for end stage motor neurone disease. She is survived by her sister, Delwyn, and her only child, the "Lovely Linda," my beautiful wife.

The world is a poorer place for Raewyn's passing. Her wisdom, cheeky wit and direct and honest communication will be sorely missed. She and Linda had an extraordinary relationship, above and beyond the usual mother/daughter bond and Linda has worked tirelessly to ensure her mum's last days were comfortable, beautiful and loving.

I have lost a friend, a cheeky raconteur and a wise counsel. She has joined her beloved Max, her partner of many decades. Linda has lost the very source of her existence, the one who raised her, made her what she is, gave her the skills to make the best life she can. One is never so alone as losing one's parents.

Thank you Raewyn. Thank you for Linda. Thank you for your wisdom. Thank you for your cheeky jokes and wicked laughter. Thank you for welcoming me so graciously into your family and home when Linda brought me home like a lost cat. You are loved, you will always be remembered fondly. You were one of the good'ns.
